Broncos OC Davis Webb Says Bo Nix Is Ready to Go on a Little Run
Broncos Country, we're 4-2 and still waiting on the quarterback to catch up to the defense. The guy who knows him best says it's coming.
**Our Take:** Webb is right to bet on Nix. Owning it in front of the cameras was step one. Now the offense has to show it, and that means explosive plays, not just clean drives.
Per NFL.com, offensive coordinator Davis Webb said Thursday: "I think he's in a good spot. I think yesterday he handled media really good. You know, took a little bit of accountability, backed up his teammates, and I think he's ready to go on a little run."
That followed Nix's own words Wednesday: "I have to play better." The numbers back him up. NFL.com has Denver 31st in yards per game (252.2) and 31st in yards per play (4.4), with just 3.4 yards per carry.
Denver Sports notes Nix has 1,049 yards, six touchdowns and a 38.5 QBR through six games, and that Webb was his quarterbacks coach before his promotion. Webb compared the moment to Trevor Lawrence, who started slow last year and finished hot.
**What to watch:** Third downs. Denver converts just 31.6% of them. If Nix starts moving the chains, Webb's little run starts Sunday.
